Description

1796 V-1, LM-1 Half Dime, MS60

1796 H10C MS60 NGC. V-1, LM-1, R.3. The NGC label calls this the LIKERTY variety, but the top and bottom of the B are delicately closed. This is an extremely important piece with exquisite design definition on both sides. A delicate crack from the rim joins the middle hair ribbon, and the obverse shows light clash marks. The reverse has a delicate crack through the first T in STATES to the wreath and eagle's neck. Brilliant silver surfaces host traces of delicate champagne toning with reflective fields. A thin scratch is visible in the right obverse field, along with a few other trivial marks. Census: 2 in 60, 17 finer (7/12).
