Description

Pleasing 1797 Draped Bust Half Dime, VF25 PCGS

1797 H10C VF25 PCGS. V-2, LM-1, R.3. Valentine-2 is the most common die marriage among survivors of the 1797 Draped Bust, Small Eagle Half Dime. This is not to imply that the present example represents a bidding opportunity that one can easily overlook. Early U.S. type coins are always in demand among collectors, and this VF representative would make an attractive addition to a circulated set. Predominantly medium gray in appearance, the surfaces reveal blushes of deeper, olive-russet patina around many of the peripheral features. All design elements are at least outlined in detail, and neither side reveals any outwardly distracting abrasions. Uncommonly problem-free for the grade. (NGC ID# 22ZZ, PCGS# 4258)
