Description:
Choice Uncirculated 1800 Capped Bust Right Half Eagle
1800 $5 MS64 NGC. B. 1-D, Miller-44, R.2. Very well defined despite being struck from a more advanced die state, with a horizontal crack on the lower reverse seen extending to either side of the shield. Frosty orange-gold surfaces are deepened in color by dappled rose-violet and blue highlights that tend to form about the peripheral devices. While a comparatively obtainable issue in Mint State, only a handful of these popular turn-of-the-century Half Eagles merit a Choice designation from the grading services. Population: 4 in 64, 0 finer (4/02). (NGC ID# 25NW, PCGS# 8082)
