Terminal Die State
Ex: Bass Collection
1806 $5 Pointed Top 6, 8x5 Stars AU55 PCGS. Breen-6447, BD-4, High R.5. Ex: HW Bass Jr. This is the terminal die state for BD-4, with a delicate obverse die crack through the cap, and a reverse rim break obliterating the top of the T in UNITED. The lustrous light yellow-gold surfaces are moderately abraded with minor adjustment marks at the center of the obverse, creating design weakness at the center of the reverse. A lovely example that is likely one of the dozen finest survivors of the die pair.
