Description
Attractive Choice Fine 1806 Half Eagle
Pointed Top 6, 8x5 Stars, BD-1
1806 $5 Pointed Top 6, 8x5 Stars Fine 15 NGC. CAC. BD-1,
R.4. A fairly available yet still very scarce die pairing, the
BD-1 is easily recognized by the Pointed 6 with 8x5 Star obverse,
star 1 nearly touching the lowest curl at two points, and the
broken T's on the reverse. Despite the even, fairly extensive wear
consistent with the grade, this piece retains a lot of eye appeal.
There are no planchet adjustment marks, and the reverse shows more
remaining detail than the obverse. The yellow-gold surfaces display
excellent eye appeal. A nice example for a midgrade type
set.(Registry values: P3)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25P7, PCGS# 8090, Greysheet# 8807)
Weight: 8.75 grams
Metal: 91.67% Gold, 8.33% Copper
