Description:
High Quality 1806 Half Eagle, B. 5-E
1806 $5 Round Top 6, 7x6 Stars MS 63 ICG. B. 5-E, Miller-84, R.2. Although a decent number of B. 5-E examples exist in Mint State, they are rare coins when viewed in the wider context of U.S. numismatics. Only 64,093 half eagles of all types were produced in 1806, and those of this variety are the most easily obtainable half eagles produced prior to 1807. A lovely Select quality survivor, both sides are colored in orange-gold hues. This issue is generally not well defined, but the present example displays crisp definition over most features. Modest brightness is noted in the fields, the surfaces are free of singularly objectionable abrasions. (NGC ID# 25P5, PCGS# 8089)
