Important 1807 Half Eagle, MS64 NGC1807 $5 Bust Left MS64 NGC. Breen-6453, B. 5-D, Miller-101, R.3. The 1807 is one of the most frequently encountered Capped Bust Left Half Eagles, along with the 1809/8, 1810 Large Date, Large 5, and 1812. Still, there are never enough examples to satisfy collector demand for early gold type. And, relatively speaking, there are very few specimens extant in absolute numbers. According to the population data from NGC (3/05), 16 other MS64 coins have been so graded with only five finer. The coin is sharply struck and the mint luster is outstanding, being undisturbed by any but the most insignificant surface marks. There is one tiny milling mark near the bridge of Liberty's nose that would serve as a ready marker for anyone wishing to trace the pedigree of this important early gold coin.(#8101) (Registry values: P2) (NGC ID# 25P9, PCGS# 8101)
