Description:
Bright AU 53 1810 Large Date, Large 5 Half Eagle
1810 $5 Large Date, Large 5 AU 53 NGC. B. 1-A, Miller-109, R.2. The Large Date, Large 5 half eagle of 1810 is the most frequently seen variety of this date and it makes an excellent type coin. This piece shows light friction over the highpoints but good portions of original mint luster still surround the devices. Well struck overall, each side displays a slight darkening of color around the design elements. The only marks of note are close to stars 4-5 on the obverse and another small one to the left of the eagle's left (facing) leg.
From the Dr. Robert W. Dingle Collection. (NGC ID# 25PG, PCGS# 8108)

The marketing was exceptional from the photos to the ads in Civil War Times and North South Trader for the cross over people!!! I have had many emails from my Civil War collecting fraternity that saw these and I saw them at the national show in Nashville/Franklin in early December.
