1810 Small Date, Large 5 Half Eagle MS631810 $5 Small Date, Large 5 MS63 PCGS. Breen-6462, B. 2-D, Miller-113, High R.5. Quite frosty with attractive yellow-gold color and strong highpoint definition, being just shy of full on the eagle's wingtips and claws. A series of minor scrapes on the upper half of the obverse stand in the way of an otherwise deserved Choice rating. Among 1810 half eagles, the Small Date, Large 5 is a largely unheralded variety that is far more difficult to locate than the Large Date, Large 5. Taking into account its separate Guide Book listing, it is the fourth rarest Capped Bust Left half eagle and it is noticeably scarcer than the 1807, 1808, 1809/8, 1811, and 1812. Population: 6 in 63, 6 finer (11/05).
