Description:
1831 MS 64 NGC. An obvious rarity with a mintage of only 4,520 pieces. Of that number very few survive today, but the ones that do still exist are rather high quality with the average piece being XF-AU with quite a few mint state pieces among them (this, of course, being one of the finest known). This piece shows the normal deep reflectivity in the fields. The striking details are almost complete, with above average definition between the juncture of the eagle's left wing and shield. The brightly reflective surfaces show only the smallest abrasions, none of which merit individual mention. A rare opportunity for the advanced gold collector. Population: 1 in 64, only 2 finer. (NGC ID# 25FM, PCGS# 7671)
