Description

Rare 1833 Quarter Eagle--One of the Finest Known

1833 MS 64 NGC. The 1833 is the second rarest date in the 1829-34 Capped Head Left series of quarter eagles, trailing only the revered 1834. A Low R.6 issue overall, in mint state it is believed that perhaps no more than 10 pieces exist of the 1833 today. This is an upper Condition Census coin with only 1 piece certified in a higher grade by NGC (10/97). The fields are bright and semi-prooflike with excellent luster characteristics throughout. The strike is well defined with above average detailing on the hair curls and left eagle's wing. There are no large or mentionable abrasions on either side of this remarkably well preserved coin. (NGC ID# BFWC, PCGS# 7673)

Several people contacted me who felt similarly about the way the auction was handled. At this point in my career I'm much more concerned with the respectful professionalism in all forms when it comes to my life's work. I truly appreciate your efforts in t
