Description:
Key Date 1804 Draped Bust Quarter
1804 25C VG8 NGC. B-1, R.4. Similar in mintage to the 1796, the 1804 is more affordable since it does not represent a one-year type. However, the scant production of 6,738 pieces ensures that the quantity of survivors is insufficient to meet demand. This lilac-gray piece has clear obverse legends, the reverse legends are also fully legible although the tops or bases of a few letters are beginning to merge into the rim. The shield lines are nearly fully separated. This is an earlier die state with light clash marks on both sides.
