Description:
1956 Franklin Half on a Quarter Planchet
1956 50C Franklin Half--Struck on 25 Cent Planchet--AU58 PCGS. Compared to the other circulating denominations, Franklin Half Dollars were struck in limited quantities. Less than 5 million Half Dollars were struck in 1956, all at the Philadelphia Mint. With productions that low, it is little surprise that the type is rarely encountered struck on a wrong planchet. This lustrous piece has light to medium gray toning, and the surfaces are unusually clean for the grade. Uncentered toward 9 o'clock with the left side elements partly off the flan.
