Description:
1968-S 5C Jefferson Nickel--Struck on a Cent Planchet--MS65 PCGS. Although not given a color designation by PCGS, the original salmon-pink color is intact, with only a few miniscule carbon flecks on each side. Lustrous and surprisingly well struck, even the steps of Monticello are well defined. Slightly uncentered toward 9 o'clock, IN GOD WE TRUST and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA are partly off the flan and show distortion from unrestrained metal flow. (NGC ID# 22VN, PCGS# 4081)

Needless to say I was overwhelmed by the results of the auction and I truly believe it was Jill’s efforts in promoting and displaying the piece that brought in the extra value.
