Description:
MS66 Red 1999 Lincoln Cent
Double Struck Obverse Die Cap
1999 1C Lincoln Cent -- Double Struck Obverse Die Cap -- MS66 Red NGC. The first strike for this cent was between the obverse die and a reverse die cap, which left a brockage impression on the reverse. The cent stuck to the obverse die and formed a cap over it as the reverse struck an unknown number of newly fed cents. The obverse cap then shifted to the right and was struck one or more additional times against newly fed cents. Obverse "Lincoln behind bars" clash marks further complicate the error.
