Description

Undated Roosevelt Dime, MS64
Struck on a Feeder Finger

20??-D Roosevelt Dime -- Double Struck on Feeder Finger -- MS64 PCGS. A slate-gray feeder finger failed to retract and was struck between dime dies. The strike sheared off a large fragment of the finger. About two-thirds of the dime design is present, though the profile is missing, as is UNITED STATES OF. The date is partial, with the top of the 20 present, the third digit absent, and the flat top of the fourth digit present. Judging from what is present of the fourth digit, we suspect the date is 2003, 2005, or 2007. Designated as a double strike, likely due to the extreme stretching of the R in AMERICA, but it is possible that the stretching occurred during a single strike.

It goes without saying that after the auction when we had a chance to have dinner together and get to know each other it even made it a better experience for me. I look forward to getting more involved with Heritage in the Future.
