Description:
Desirable Sacagawea Dollar Error, A Quadruple Struck Coin
Undated $1 Sacagawea Dollar--Struck Four Times--MS62 NGC. After having been struck properly, this coin failed to fully eject from the press with the result that it was struck three more times. All of the latter impressions are approximately 40% off center at 3 o'clock. Only the first two digits in the date of one of the final impressions are visible, and the mintmark is missing. The planchet is distended due to the multiple strikings with a nearly straight edge at the right border. Both sides are honey-gold in color and limited in grade by scattered carbon flecks. (NGC ID# 259K, PCGS# 9584)
