Description

Low Mintage 1852-D Gold Dollar, AU55
Difficult Type One D-Mint Issue

1852-D G$1 AU55 NGC. Variety 4-F, the only known variety. From a tiny mintage of 6,360 pieces, the 1852-D gold dollar is the third rarest Type One gold dollar from the Dahlonega Mint. Doug Winter estimates a surviving population of 100-110 pieces in all grades, while Q. David Bowers suspects the total may run to 200 examples. Only 40-45 coins are known in AU grades. The present coin is sharply struck for an 1852-D, and a few abrasions on Liberty's nose are the only flaws worthy of mention. Census: 15 in 55, 64 finer (2/10).

This is why I like purchasing from Heritage, you are so customer oriented and with your size and my meager purchases it always amazes me how quickly you respond.
