Description:
1854 Gold Dollar, MS62
Popular Type Two Issue
1854 G$1 Type Two MS62 NGC. The diameter of the gold dollar planchet was increased in mid-1854, to keep the coins from being so easily lost in pockets, etc. The new Type Two design only lasted three years, due to striking problems. This well-detailed MS62 example offers lustrous greenish-gold surfaces, with only minor signs of contact.(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 25C3, PCGS# 7531)
