Description:
1857-S G$1 XF45 PCGS. Housed in a green-label holder, this Choice XF gold dollar is one of only a few such coins struck in San Francisco. The Western Mint was primarily interested in striking double eagles, and that large denomination took most of their time and effort. This delightful example has lovely orange and blue patina with only a touch of wear.(Registry values: N991) (NGC ID# 25CG, PCGS# 7547)
