1877 G$1 MS65 Prooflike NGC....
Gem Prooflike 1877 Gold Dollar1877 G$1 MS65 Prooflike NGC. The circulation-strike mintage for the 1877 gold dollar was only 3,900 pieces. The estimated total population of Mint State survivors is between 250 to 350 pieces. This issue is quite popular with collectors for a number of reasons, including the fact that 1877 is a key date for a number of series. Pronounced doubling appears on the reverse. This example was struck from slightly rotated dies. A few minor ticks appear near 12 o'clock on the reverse rim. PCGS has yet to grade an example at this level or higher while NGC has graded only 1 in 65 Prooflike, 3 finer (3/13).
