Attractive Gem 1882 Gold Dollar1882 G$1 MS65 PCGS. Sharply struck with watery reflectivity noted in the prooflike fields, and attractive light toning on both sides. Surface marks are minimal, and a shallow planchet flaw (as struck) is noted near the lower obverse periphery at 6 o'clock. A low mintage issue of only 5,000 pieces. Karl Stecher, Sr. purchased this piece for $6.00 from the Guttag Bros. of New York during the 1930s. A Guttag Bros. envelope with the inscriptions "6 00 1882 One Dollar Gold Semi Proof" accompanies the lot.
