Description:
Problem-Free 1795 Lettered Edge Half Cent
C-1, B-1, MS62 Brown
1795 1/2 C Lettered Edge MS62 Brown PCGS. C-1, B-1, R.2. The I rather than 1 in the date is an obvious tipoff to this widely sought-after Liberty Cap half cent. Other diagnostics include the everpresent thick Liberty pole near the truncation of the bust, and the small die dot following the last A in AMERICA. This piece is sharply struck on the obverse curls but shows minor softness on the highest portions of the leaves on the reverse. The pleasing surfaces are medium brown with a slight reddish undertone. Faint traces of mint red peek out from around some of the letters on the darker reverse. The problem-free surfaces show no noticeable abrasions or rim dings. Accompanied by an insert where the piece was earlier graded MS63 Brown by PCGS. MRB AU50. Population: 2 in 62 Brown, 5 finer (3/11).(Registry values: P6) (NGC ID# 2224, PCGS# 1009)
