Description:
1797 Half Cent, AU Sharpness
C-2, Plain Edge
1797 1/2 C Plain Edge -- Improperly Cleaned -- NGC Details. AU. C-2, B-2, R.3. A sharp example of this final-year Liberty Cap type coin, which is usually encountered well circulated or corroded. The medium brown surfaces are a bit glossy and we note several faint thin obverse marks. The obverse dentils are longer and better defined than the reverse dentils, usual for C-2. There is no trace of a Talbot, Allum & Lee cent undertype. Our EAC grade VF25.

Needless to say I was overwhelmed by the results of the auction and I truly believe it was Jill’s efforts in promoting and displaying the piece that brought in the extra value.
