Description

Pleasing 1802/0 Reverse of 1802 Half Cent, VF25 PCGS

1802/0 1/2 C Reverse of 1802 VF25 PCGS. C-2, B-2, R.3. The 2 in the date is within a large 0 underdigit, and the right wreath termination has a double leaf, which identifies the Second Reverse or Reverse of 1802 variety. Also, Ronald Manley (1998), in his The Half Cent Die State treatise, writes that this is: "The only Draped Bust reverse with a berry on the right branch between the lowest leaf and the stem end." The present example displays medium brown surfaces that are relatively clean. Just a few minute contact marks are seen on Liberty's cheek and neck. The design elements retain fairly sharp detail, though the letters in HALF CENT are weak. EAC 12.(Registry values: P7) (NGC ID# 222D, PCGS# 1057)
