Description:
1907 Twenty Dollar High Relief, AU53
Significant Eye Appeal
1907 $20 High Relief AU53 NGC. Just a trace of the extruded wire rim is seen on the obverse, while the reverse is almost completely encircled by the "fin" the Mint considered a striking defect in 1907. Even with a hint of rub over the high points of the design, this piece retains much of the appeal of a much higher-graded High Relief. The reddish-tinged surfaces retain significant satiny luster around the devices, and show only slight contact marks on each side which are in concert with the grade. The value-conscious collector should take a close look at this piece.

The Coinage of Augustus Saint-Gaudens as Illustrated by the Morse and Duckor Collections
Revised Edition by James L. Halperin, Mark R. Borckardt, Mark Van Winkle, Jon Amato, and Gregory J. Rohan, with special contributor David W. Akers

The Coinage of Augustus Saint-Gaudens is an issue-by-issue examination of these two artistically inspired series of gold coins. Each date and mintmark is reviewed with up-to-date information, much of which has never been previously published. The book is based on two extraordinary collections: The Phillip H. Morse collection and the Dr. and Mrs. Steven L. Duckor collection.
