Description:

Gem Red and Brown 1877 Cent
Noteworthy Mint State Key
1877 1C MS65 Red and Brown PCGS. Every 1877 Indian cent, from the humblest cull to the best-preserved example, is some collector's treasure. For most enthusiasts, a fully Red Mint State coin is out of the question, but an attractive Red and Brown piece is more accessible. The obverse of this Gem is copper-orange and mellowed little despite the presence of a carbon spot at the right obverse rim. The reverse shows mahogany attributes more plainly but still is appealing and more Red than Brown. Decently struck overall, if a little soft on the tips of the feathers, with few significant abrasions. Population: 60 in 65 (1 in 65+) Red and Brown, 3 finer (2/13).(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 2284, PCGS# 2128)
