Description:
1893 1C MS65 Red PCGS. Gleaming lustrous surfaces throughout both sides are the most obvious attribute of this conditionally rather elusive date from the 1890s. Although the feather tips are not absolute, all four diamonds are present and the other details are well-executed. Copper-tan color yields to red-orange near the margins. There are a few brownish flecks on the reverse that nonetheless do not appear to be carbon. Population: 80 in 65 Red, 23 finer (8/11).(Registry values: N1793) (NGC ID# 228M, PCGS# 2186)
