1909-D $10 MS64 PCGS....
Seldom Seen So Fine
"Unless you are a specialist in the series, it is surprising to learn just how scarce this date really is. Despite its relatively high mintage of 121,540, the 1909-D is a tough coin in any grade above MS63 and many experts regard it as one of the most undervalued Indian Head Eagles."
In the near-Gem grade of the present coin, PCGS has certified only 30 examples, with a mere nine finer (9/10). Frosty luster abounds throughout both sides, with orange-gold predominating amid accents of yellow-gold. Minor signs of contact are consistent with the grade but completely undistracting. The mintmark is bold, and the reverse is choice for the grade.(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 28GN, PCGS# 8863)
