Description:
Outstanding Gem Uncirculated 1930-S Ten Dollar
1930-S $10 MS65 PCGS. Only 96,000 pieces were struck of the 1930-S and most of the production run was melted under the terms of the Gold Recall Act of 1933. Today it is estimated that only 85-100 pieces are believed known in all grades. Among Gem coins only 28 pieces have been certified (18 PCGS and 10 NGC) with eight finer (four at each service). While generally only available in mint condition, the typical coin has notably bagmarked surfaces. This piece is virtually free from abrasions with none that are worthy of singular mention. A few tiny alloy spots are scattered about with the only larger ones located by star 5, and on the reverse on the E in UNITED and the bottom of the A in STATES. The visual appeal and technical qualities of this outstanding rarity would be very difficult to duplicate.(#8883) (Registry values: N7079) (NGC ID# 28HA, PCGS# 8883)

The Coinage of Augustus Saint-Gaudens as Illustrated by the Morse and Duckor Collections
Revised Edition by James L. Halperin, Mark R. Borckardt, Mark Van Winkle, Jon Amato, and Gregory J. Rohan, with special contributor David W. Akers

The Coinage of Augustus Saint-Gaudens is an issue-by-issue examination of these two artistically inspired series of gold coins. Each date and mintmark is reviewed with up-to-date information, much of which has never been previously published. The book is based on two extraordinary collections: The Phillip H. Morse collection and the Dr. and Mrs. Steven L. Duckor collection.

If my clients were to auction something of significance, having Mike as the auctioneer would be a deal maker as far as I am concerned.
