Description:
1909 Half Eagle, MS64+
An Excellent Type Coin
1909 $5 MS64+ PCGS. CAC. The 1909 half eagle, with its mintage just exceeding 627,000 pieces, is one of the more available dates among Indian Head fives. It merits type-coin status, as most examples are well-made and highly lustrous. This high-end near-Gem displays lustrous yellow-gold surfaces and well-struck design elements. One of only 24 MS64+ coins seen by PCGS (11/13).(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 28DH, PCGS# 8513)
