Description

1915 Half Eagle, Seldom-Seen Gem
A Top-Notch Example

1915 $5 MS65 PCGS. The 1911-1913 Indian half eagle issues from the Philadelphia Mint are each among the most available issues of the series up to the Gem level, a function of their overall high-quality production values. Most are well-struck with excellent luster over fine-grained surfaces. This 1915 half eagle in Gem condition shows many of the same qualities, but it is considerably more elusive in the MS65 grade than the dates mentioned above. The orange-tinted surfaces on this piece are exemplary: boldly struck with full glowing luster and only a few tiny marks away from the prime focal points. Population: 46 in 65 (3 in 65+), 0 finer (11/12).(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 28DX, PCGS# 8530)
