Choice Uncirculated 1929 Half Eagle1929 MS 64 PCGS. The 1929 has long been considered one of the key dates in the series of Indian half eagles. It is the rarest issue in the series from the viewpoint of the number of specimens available in all grades. Apparently most of the mintage was melted in 1934, and today, while almost all survivors are uncirculated, it is a major condition rarity above MS 63. This is a splendid example whose moderately satiny surfaces have taken on a rich, variegated reddish caste. A few light field marks prevent an even higher grade. (NGC ID# 2800, PCGS# 8533)
