Description:
1908 Two and a Half, MS66
Highest Obtainable Grade Level
1908 $2 1/2 MS66 PCGS. Although five examples are certified numerically finer by PCGS and NGC combined (7/14), the Premium Gem level is for all practical purposes the finest available grade for this popular first-year issue. Improper die alignment caused strike weakness on the eagle's upper wing, but the strike for this inaugural date is otherwise bold, and the coin is radiantly lustrous over tempting, honey-gold surfaces. No significant abrasions are seen on either the high, exposed fields or the recessed motifs.(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 288Y, PCGS# 7939)
