Description:
1929 Indian Two and a Half, MS65
Only Six Numerically Finer at Both Services
1929 $2 1/2 MS65 PCGS. The quarter eagle denomination was discontinued after 1929, making this date extremely important for type collectors. Despite a substantial mintage of 532,000 pieces, the 1929 is scarce in Gem condition and prohibitively rare any finer, with PCGS and NGC combined having awarded higher numeric grades to only six examples (12/13). The present coin is a well-detailed Gem, with vibrant mint luster and pleasing greenish-gold surfaces.(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 289F, PCGS# 7953)
