Description:
1956 Medium-Sized Silver Ingot, 21.07 Ounces
OZS Punched in Upside-Down
1956 San Francisco Mint Silver Ingot. 21.07 ounces. This medium-sized ingot is well laid out with the circular imprint of the mint in the middle of the top of the front side, followed by 811 / 21.07 SZO / 999.75 FINE. None of the sides or the back have any imprints. There is a large, irregular depression between the mint's imprint and 811 that is apparently from gas inclusions from the time of casting. The surfaces are mostly brilliant with a slight rose tinge on the top side. Of special interest as the OZS punch was struck into the ingot upside-down.
