AMERI. 1793 Chain Cent with Fine Details1793 Chain 1C AMERI.--Corroded--ANACS. Fine Details, Net VG10. S-1, R.4. Die state B, with a die crack between TA in STATES. This deeply toned example has a somewhat rough obverse, while the reverse is only moderately granular. The reverse is sharp and has bold legends, and Liberty possesses strong definition on her profile and lowest hair tresses. The importance of this variety can hardly be over-emphasized, as it represents the first business strike production of the United States Mint. AMERICA was apparently abbreviated to maintain equal spacing between the words in the reverse peripheral legend.
