Description:
1793 Chain 1C AMERICA -- Damaged -- PCGS Genuine. Good Details. S-3, B-4, Low R.3. The rims are crimped and a slender flan crack crosses the reverse between 4 and 10 o'clock. A slender counterstamp is entered vertically across the center of the portrait. Within the recessed counterstamp, the letters R CUTLER are raised and easily read. Brunk attributes the stamp as C-1188 from New Haven, and notes it is seen on a 1787 Connecticut copper and a 1793 large cent (likely the present coin). No EAC grade assigned.(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 223F, PCGS# 1341)
