1863 $20 XF40 PCGS. Moderate, even wear shows on the largely unabraded surfaces of this attractive Civil War era specimen. From a low mintage of 142,790 pieces, the 1863 business-strike double eagle was not saved in quantity by contemporary collectors. The issue is scarce in all grades today. Population: 14 in 40, 98 finer (10/09).(Registry values: N991) (NGC ID# 269P, PCGS# 8939)
