Description:
1908 Double Eagle, MS62 PCGS
1905 $20 MS62 PCGS. The 1905 has the second lowest mintage issue among 20th century Liberty double eagles, one of a mere 59,011 pieces struck, and probably the scarcest issue in Mint State. This specimen displays apricot-gold surfaces with light greenish and tan accents, and the design elements are sharply struck. Some minute contact marks on Liberty's cheek and neck, and in the obverse fields define the grade. PCGS has seen only 42 pieces finer, and NGC has certified eleven examples higher.(#9047) (Registry values: N1793) (NGC ID# 26D2, PCGS# 9047)
