1907-S Double Eagle, Pleasing MS64 Quality1907-S $20 MS64 NGC. The 1907-S is common in MS60-63 but, in MS64 and higher grades easily the scarcest of the three Liberty Head issues produced in 1907. Gems are extremely rare and the last one we sold at auction was lot 7404 in the September 1998 Long Beach Auction. It was graded MS65 by NGC and realized $16,100.
The issue is known for having sub-par eye appeal, but one would never know it from viewing this coin. Just slightly soft in the center of the obverse, the frosted surfaces have an even pinkish-rose coloration, and are minimally abraded. (NGC ID# 26D9, PCGS# 9054)
