Description:
Conditionally Rare 1843-O Eagle, MS61 PCGS
1843-O $10 MS61 PCGS. One of 175,162 pieces produced, this '43-O is a conditionally rare survivor of this otherwise relatively available O-mint Eagle. There is full, original luster in evidence on both sides, the finish being frosty in texture over the devices, complimenting the shimmering brightness in the fields. The otherwise green-gold color warms to yellow-gold shades at direct angles, and the overall sharp strike is well above average for a product of the Louisiana branch mint. The surfaces are somewhat scuffy as expected of the assigned grade with a few squiggly marks in the right obverse field. Population: 2 in 61, 1 finer (3/04).(#8589) (Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 262R, PCGS# 8589)
