Description:
Elusive 1853/2 Eagle in AU 53
1853/2 $10 AU 53 PCGS. Nicely defined over the central features, the surfaces reveal remnants of original luster in the protected areas. Both sides are typically abraded for the grade, but the warm golden-rose color provides suitable eye appeal. As an issue, the 1853 is one of the more readily obtainable eagles from the 1850s, but this overdate variety is scarce in all grades and rare above the XF level. (NGC ID# 263E, PCGS# 8611)
