Description:
Seldom Offered BU 1860 Liberty Eagle
1860 $10 MS60 PCGS. Among P-mint Eagles from this era, the 1851, 1854, 1857, and 1859 are all equally as rare as the 1860. The present example is one of few survivors from an original mintage of just 15,105 pieces, and it is also a significant condition rarity. Rich reddish-gold color envelops both sides with some light, dappled haziness seen at a few angles. The striking definition sharpens considerable toward the centers, and scattered light-to-moderate abrasions are consistent with the designated grade. Most extant 1860 Tens grade no finer than XF, and this is only the third example certified MS60 to appear in one of our Signature Sales since the early 1990s. (NGC ID# 2644, PCGS# 8631)
