1860-O $10 XF45 NGC....
Elusive 1860-O Ten Dollar, XF45 NGC1860-O $10 XF45 NGC. The final O-mint eagle delivery before the Civil War, the 1860-O is a low mintage (11,100 pieces) issue with an extant population estimated to be only 75-80 coins. This issue is, therefore, equal in rarity to the 1845-O, 1846-O, and 1850-O and much more difficult to locate in any grade than the 1842-O, 1844-O, 1853-O, 1854-O, and 1858-O. The design elements on this specimen are generally well impressed, though the hair over Liberty's ear is weak, and most of the star centers are flat. Nice detail shows in the eagle's feathers, except for a touch of softness on those of the wing tips. Peach-gold patina graces each side, and traces of luster are seen in the protected areas, particularly on the reverse. A few minute contact marks scattered over each side do not detract.(#98631) (Registry values: P6) (NGC ID# 2645, PCGS# 98631)
