Description:
Elusive Choice AU 1868 Ten Dollar
1868 $10 AU55 NGC. A well struck example with sun-gold and pale olive toning. Luster fills design recesses, and the scattered small marks are unobtrusive. All Philadelphia issues between 1862 and 1873 are rare, although the 1868 has a mintage of 10,630 pieces, which is relatively high for the era. Census: 16 in 55, 21 finer (7/08).(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 264N, PCGS# 8653)
