1881 $10 MS64 PCGS. The mintage of the 1881 is such that the issue is common in bagmarked Mint State, but such pieces were regarded strictly as bullion prior to Roosevelt's gold recall. MS64 examples are rare, and only a single piece is certified as MS65 or better by PCGS. This well struck and lustrous apricot-gold Choice ten has a tick on the nose and a few moderate field grazes. Population: 14 in 64, 1 finer (11/10).(Registry values: N1793) (NGC ID# 265W, PCGS# 8691)
