Description:
Pleasing Semi-Prooflike MS63 1885 Ten Dollar
1885 $10 MS63 NGC. Prior to the discovery of a few European mini-hoards in recent years, the 1885 eagle was considered rare in mint condition. Owing to the repatriation of the small overseas holdings, a handful of Uncirculated examples are now available to collectors, although no more than three have been certified in Gem or better condition at either NGC or PCGS. The current coin is one of only 23 Select Uncirculated specimens seen by NGC, with a mere 12 coins of this date grading finer (4/07). The fields are bright with a confirmed reflectivity on each side. Sharply defined throughout with even, rich orange-gold color.(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 266D, PCGS# 8706)
