MS63 1901-O Eagle, Unabraded and Well-Struck1901-O $10 MS63 NGC. Variety 1. Of the eight possible O-mint eagle issues from 1900 to 1907, the New Orleans Mint managed to make actual coins in half of those years -- 1901-O, 1903-O, 1904-O, and 1906-O. The 1901-O production was the smallest of the four, at 72,041 coins, but it appears that a few New Orleanians saved examples. Examples today are available through the near-Gem level but seldom finer. This orange-gold Select specimen displays exuberant mint luster over well-struck surfaces that offer few singular marks and top-notch eye appeal. Census: 20 in 63, 8 finer (10/11).(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 267R, PCGS# 8748)
