Description:
Smooth Near-Mint 1906-D Liberty Ten
1906-D $10 MS64 PCGS. The Denver Mint finally opened in 1906, several decades after the Federal government purchased the Denver coinage facility of Clark, Gruber, & Co. Half eagles, eagles, and double eagles were struck in both 1906 and 1907 in sufficient quantity for Colorado collectors to own quality examples of the three Liberty gold types. The 1906-D ten is relatively available, but the present piece is especially nice. It is well struck and lustrous with clean surfaces and consistent sun-gold color. Just 25 pieces have been certified finer by PCGS (10/08).(Registry values: N1793) (NGC ID# 2685, PCGS# 8760)
